Privacy Policy

AORAKI respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

  • Order information: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and the items you ordered.
  • Payment information: handled by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
  • Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring links, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
  • Communications: emails, contact form submissions and support conversations.

Why we collect it

  • To process, pack, ship and track your order, and to handle returns and warranty claims.
  • To communicate with you about your order and respond to enquiries.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet our tax and record-keeping obligations.
  • To improve our site and product range, using aggregated analytics.
  • To send marketing emails — only where you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary with service providers who help us run the store, including:

  • our ecommerce platform (Shopify) and its payment processors;
  • carriers such as Australia Post, for delivery and tracking;
  • email, analytics and advertising platforms, where you have consented or where permitted by law;
  • professional advisers, or a government body where we are legally required to disclose.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives protections consistent with the APPs. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and measure site traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the store, including checkout, may not work correctly if you do.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to retain it. Email support@aorakisport.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have breached the APPs, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Security and retention

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections at checkout. We keep order records for as long as required for tax and warranty purposes, then delete or de-identify them.
