DC-0198 is a cycling shoe in our range, stocked in the colourway shown on this page and EU sizes 37–47. It is aimed at riders doing regular training and weekend distance rather than racing.

Built for

On a bike your foot is a lever, not a landing gear. Power goes through the ball of the foot into the pedal, and any movement inside the shoe is energy that never reaches the wheel. DC-0198 is built to keep the foot planted and the pedal stroke efficient on rides from a commute to a long weekend loop.

Key features

  • Efficient power transfer. A stiffened sole plate spreads load across the ball of the foot so the pedal stroke does not flex the shoe.
  • Secure closure. The retention system pulls the midfoot down and back, holding the heel in place so it does not lift when you pull up through the stroke.
  • Ventilated upper. Mesh panels move air over the foot on long rides without letting the shoe collapse under pedalling force.

Materials & construction

Synthetic upper with ventilated mesh, closed with straps or laces, on a reinforced nylon or composite sole with a rubberised tread for walking into a cafe stop. Check the product options for the cleat compatibility of this model before ordering.

Sizing

Cycling shoes are usually sized close to your everyday EU size, but feet swell on long rides — if you ride more than two hours at a time, go up half a size. Your toes should not touch the front of the shoe when you push, and your heel must not lift when you pull up.

Care

Wipe the upper with a damp cloth after wet rides and dry at room temperature, away from heat. Check the cleat bolts every few rides — they work loose. Store shoes unclipped and loosely laced so the upper keeps its shape.
